Ijare Microfinance Bank Ltd, was incorporated on April 7, 1993 with Certificate of Incorporation RC 220039. It was granted a final licence by Central Bank of Nigeria on January 20, 2010 with licence No 000373.

The bank is located at its registered office 34, Obasola Street, Ijare, Ifedore Local Government, Ondo State. The catchment area of the bank include Ijare, and the neighbouring communities in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The major economic activities of the area are agriculture and commerce.

The bank has a history of transformation as it metamorphosed from Ijare Community Bank to its present name IJARE MICROFINANCE BANK LTD in accordance with the Central Bank of Nigeria Microfinance Guidelines/directives.

The directors have chosen the name ‘’ IJARE MICROFINANCE BANK LTD’’ in order to maintain the goodwill the institution had earned as community bank over the years.

The bank, at its commencement, had a vision to serve the banking needs of the numerous small savers and micro enterprises that often require life-lines by way of mini-loans to overcome short-term liquidity problems.

Ijare microfinance bank Ltd had the prospect to develop into a stronger and more profitable financial institution. The bank had a strong and well experienced Board and staff.

OWNWERSHIP STRUCTURE

The promoters (Directors of Ijare microfinance bank ltd) are wholly owned by

the indigenes of Ijare community, who had contributed into the equity over the years.

The bank had an authorized share capital of #50million.
